A government was created for Canada and its territory extended all the way South to Ohio River. -

At Lexington 70 Minutemen were waiting for the 700 English soldiers. An unknown shot was fired, when smoke cleared 8 minutemen were dead. Then the soldier went to Concord, and the home of Retired Colonel Barrett’s farm but found no weapons -

Continental Congress agreed to meet again if the British did not address their complaints the first time and this is when they met back up but a few things changed. There were important people this time around such as Ben Franklin, John Hancock, and Thomas Jefferson. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Militia set up posts on Bunker Hill and Breed’s Hill, which were across from Boston and after the British saw this they formed a plan and attacked the next day. The Battle of Bunker Hill was considered a British victory but just over 1000 British troops died
and around 90 Militia lost their lives -
Olive Branch Petition
This petition is a formal request that assured King George III that the colonist wanted peace, and asked to protect their rights but he rejected it and prepared for war. -
Benedict Arnold failed to take Quebec
While on their way to fight Benedict Arnold didn't realize how quickly they would run out of supplies and when the winter storm would hit. -
Washington takes over boston
Spring, March, 17th, 1776, Washington thought his troops were ready to fight, and the cannons made it from Northern New York. The British woke up to 60 cannons surrounding them and when they realized the cannons could hit them British General William Howe had his soldiers get on ships and go to Nova Scotia -
Hessian Soldiers are hired by King George III
King George III had hired 30,000 German mercenaries to fight along side British troops. -
