  • Bacon's Rebellion

    Cause: There were high taxes, lower prices for tobacco and specific people were given more privileges and rights than others. Definition: It was the first rebellion caused by the Virginian settlers. They wanted to fight for their rights with the leader of Nathanial Bacon. Impact: This enlarged the troubles that are left. It also increased slave trade and made them realize that indentured servants are not as good.

    Great Awakening

    Cause: There was multiple people fighting over different religious beliefs and rights. Definition: Period of intense religious fighting. This lowered the power of the church and gave more importance to each individual. Impact: Altered the religion for the American colonies. People were influenced to follow god and rely on god. This led to Methodists and Baptist to grow.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Cause: This was created and proposed by Benjamin Franklin to allow the colonists to share their interests and work together. Definition: A plan to put the British North American colonies under a more centralized government. 7 representatives came together and agreed on the plan. Impact: This ended up failing because it would have taken away some of their current executive powers. It was never sent to Britain.

    Cause: There was major conflict between the England and France because they both wanted the Ohio River Valley. Definition: A series of fights between Britain and France, in which the British gained control of all of Canada Impact: British got to expand their land more. Britain was put into a larger debt now even though they won.

    British Colonial Acts

    Cause: Britain was put into major debt and they needed more money to pay it off. Definition: These were many taxes put on the colonists to pay or supply good. Some examples are Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Intolerable Acts and many more. Impact: This caused the colonists to become more sneaky and protest against every tax.
  • Proclamation Line of 1763

    Cause: British leaders were scared and feared that the colonists would still fight on the frontier if they kept moving over. Definition: One of boundaries that would separate the colonists and the Native Americans. This was meant to reduce the probability of war and to lower costs to maintain peace. Impact: This stopped the people from settling West of the Appalachian Mountains which was marked on the Treaty of Paria

    Pontiac's Rebellion

    Cause: British was favoring the Native Americans more and started to have troubles with France. Definition: Native American rebelled against the colonists and British. Impact: It showed that many tribes were able to come together and made British more serious when controlling them.
  • Boston Massacre

    Cause: There was on gunshot heard because people thought that the British general said to shoot. Definition: It was a street fight that occurred including snowball fights, gun shots, and people fighting. Impact: This ended with a death. It impacted the relations between the British and the American Colonies.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Cause: Colonists believed that the British were unfairly taxing them on goods. Definition: The Boston Colonists wanted to protest so they got on the ships and dumped multiple crates of tea into the ocean. Impact: The harbor was shut down by King George and he said that everyone must pay for all the tea that was dumped in order to receive their self government back.
  • First Continental Congress

    Cause: The British was treating the colonists unfairly giving them multiple taxes and having them pay for a debt that Britain is in. Definition: The First Continental Congress was a meeting by delegates to talk about how Britain was treating them and the Coercive Acts. It was a delegate from each of the 13 colonies. Impact: This led to people getting back their rights and regaining the self government. They also boycotted the British goods.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Cause: It was at the end of the French and Indian War to make peace. Definition: Treaty being signed by both sides stating France was giving up the land up north and ending any foreign military threat with the British. Impact: This was the formal ending of the American Revolutionary War. Britain said how the United States was formally independent.
