Sugar Act
Sugar Act reduced the rate of tax on molasses from six pence to three pence per gallon. The act also listed more foreign goods to be taxed including sugar, certain wines, coffee, pimiento, cambric and printed calico, and further, regulated the export of lumber and iron. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was a result of Great Britian rising taxes on manufactured goods going to the British Colonies. The purpose of the Stamp Act was that every manufactured goods that were bought were stamped to prove a person bought the item, and people were taxed on each manufacuterd item they bought. Great Britian taxed the colonies because the treasury of Great Britian was running low on money so they taxed the colonies to return money back into the treasury. -
The Quartering Act of 1765
During the Quartering Act of 1765, the colonists were required to feed and house British soldiers. The colonists did not like having their houses opened up for the British soldiers to be housed and fed by force. Which did not settle well with the colonists causing conflict between the colonists and the British soldiers who were serving in the colonies -
The Townshend Act
AN ACT for granting certain duties in the British colonies and plantations in America; for allowing a drawback of the duties of customs upon the exportation from this kingdom, of coffee and cocoa nuts of the produce of the said colonies or plantations; for discontinuing the drawbacks payable on china earthen ware exported to America; and for more effectually preventing the clandestine running of goods in the said colonies and plantations. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was known as "The Bloody Massacre" it happened on March 5, 1770. It was a result as the patroits throwing objects like snow balls, sticks, and rocks at the British soldiers. Since the British soldiers were attacked by the patriots. So some of the soldiers fired into the crowd of people which killed 3 and wounded 8. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was an act of rebellion. Colonists were angry that the King had decided to put taxes on tea, the beloved drink of the Britsh. They acted out, sabotaging many shipments of tea, throwing the barrels over board. -
The Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts was a created begun in the spring of 1774. The purpose of the Intolerable Acts was to punish the Colonists for the Boston Tea Party. Great Britian was angry at the colonies because they wasted the tea that was shipped to colonies.
