Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 didn't allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The reason for this was because the British feared that there would be conflicts between Native Americans and the Colonists. They also feared that it would eventually lead to another war. Also, the British couldn't afford to send their troops to defend the western lands. Because of the Proclamation, colonists were very angry and felt that they had the right to settle in the Ohio River Valley. -
