The Proclamation of 1763
Colonists had to move from the Ohio Valley because King George III couldn't keep protecting the them. -
Sugar Act
It was the tax on sugar/molasses.And it upset colonists. This is where "No taxation without representation" came into play. -
Stamp Act
It was the tax on stamps for legal documents, newpapers, dice,and playing cards. -
Quartering Act
It made colonists keep British soliders in there house when they were stationed in the area. The colonists view of this was a violation of thier rights. -
Townshend Acts
It taxed imported goods like glass and any
other materials. This also allowed officers to use writs of assistance to search ships for smuggled goods. -
Boston Massacre
An incident where 5 american colonists were shot and eventually died.The picture to the right was made by Paul Revere, this image is an example of propaganda. -
Tea Act
A tax on tea that made the colonists outraged resulting in the Boston Tea Party. The colonists boycotted tea because of the outragous tax on this item. -
Boston Tea Party
It's when some people from the Sons of Liberty dumped lots of tea from British boats and dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Coercive/Intolerable Acts
The punishments that took place because of the Boston Tea Party such as Banning town meetings, they closed the Boston Harbor, and they made new quartering acts. -
The First Continental Congress
When the sons of liberty meet up in Philadelphia to discuss the Intolerable Acts. They thought about what they should do about the intolerable acts and how they should do it. -
Paul Revere's Ride
Is the event when Paul Revere noticed two lanterns lit in the North Church tower so he went to warn people that the British were coming. -
Lexington and Concord
The start of a long war that happened between the 13 colonies, colonists and British soliders. Many were killed during these first battles.
