• Proclamation of 1763
King George III made a law after Great Britain won the French territory in North America at the end of the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War, which forbade all settlement past a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains. -
• Stamp Act
The British placing a tax on all printed material. -
• Declaratory Act
Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, which accompanied the repeal of the Stamp Act and the changing and lessening of the Sugar Act. -
• Townshend Acts
A series of acts passed by the Parliament of Great Britain relating to the British colonies in North America. -
• Boston Massacre
The British soldiers gathered around the colonist and they heard a gunshot so they thought that they were being threatened. They then started shooting into the colonist. They killed 5 colonist including the famous Crispus Attucks. -
• Tea Act
The British have made a law informing a tax on all tea except from the British East India company so they can help them money wise. -
• Boston Tea Party
A political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston where they sneaked in the middle of the night dressed as Indians and threw imported tea off of the British ship. -
• Intolerable Acts
The American Patriots term for all the unfair acts that the British put upon the colonist. -
1st Continental Congress
The first meeting of delegates from twelve of the Thirteen Colonies. -
• Midnight Ride: Revere, Cheswell, Dawes

• Lexington and Concord
The first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. -
• 2nd Continental Congress
The second congress meeting when the Declaration of Independence was made and signed by the delegates starting the United States of America. -
Treaty of Paris of 1763
A document that ended the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War between Great Britain and France, as well as their respective allies. In the terms of the treaty, France gave up all its territories in mainland North America, effectively ending any foreign military threat to the British colonies there.
