  • The Nationalist Socialist German worker parties

    This party pushed for nationalism, and anti-jewish ideas at first.
  • Hitler takes over the NSDAP

    Hitler wen tot his first meeting in 1919, and then later took it over in 1921 and pronounced himself as fuhrer. Then he created the brown shirts to deal with his opponents.
  • Hitler tries to take over

    Hitler blamed a bunch of other German political groups for Germany's problems. Then Hitlers small party tried over throwing the government and got caught, but this action gave his party a ton of publicity. And later got released in 1924
  • Great Depression

    This occasion led Germans voters to look more to radical parties like Hitler. Weimar government failed to respond to this crisis. After 11 months the NSDAP had most of the votes. And in July 1932 the Nazis won 230 seats.
  • Enabling Act

    This act allowed Hitler to govern without reference of the Reichtag. So him and his minister could rule by decree, bypass the constitution, initiate taxes and spending, and determine foreign policies without approval from Reichstag. The act was passed but only because the Nazis arrested dozens of members from other parties, causing 24 Reichstag representatives to not vote because they were intimidated. July 14th 1933 the NSDAP declared anyone who supports any other party will be punished.
  • Chancellor deal

    Hitlers popularity still increasing but even with this the president Paul von Hindenburg, and still refusing "ridiculous Austrian corporal". to the chancellorship. Instead offered minister Kurt von Schleicher. Hitler didn't want to give up his Chancellorship, his one supporter is Franz von Papen. He convinced the president on January 30th 1933 and offered Hitler the job.
  • Concentration camp openings

    Hitler started the construction of concentration camps in 1933, then later in 1934 their were up and running. July 30th 1934 Hitler ganed support from German armies by killing off a bunch of storm troopers. Then on August 2nd 1934 President Hindenburg died and Hitler was in full control.
  • New foreign policy

    November of 1937 Hitler laid out his concerns about German economic growth.He stressed self sufficiency in food and raw material. Proposed an expansion into Eastern Europe to access more land.
  • Anschluss

    Mid 1930 Austria had its own Nazi group, but the Austrian chancellor was not having and wanted their independence, they held a vote in march of 1938. Hitler was not amused and told them to either relinquish their power or face invasion. Austria tried to ask France and Britain for helped but they declined. So the next day Hitler cross borders and joined Austria
  • Czech and Munich agreement

    Hitler paid attention to Sudetenland, and that Germans in Sudetenland were being persecuted by Czechs. British prime didn't approve at first and Hitler and him met up three times in September, and ended up agreeing on his demands. Then later Italy France and Chamberlain met up and allowed Hitler to to take over Sudetenland as long as Hitler won't go any farther into Czech.
  • Rearmament

    Hitler reintroduced the draft in 1934, and then told everyone about his four year plan, a schedule of preparation for the war. By 1939 Germany armed forced had more than 900,000 soldiers, 8,00 aircraft and 95 warships.
  • Reichstag fire

    When Hitler first started he didn't have a lot of power, and still could loose his chancellorship. What pushed HiItler to have his ultimate power was a destructive fire in the Reichtags building, and after investagation found flammable material scattered around the building.. Hitler asked the president to invoke article 48 of he Weimar constitution. The later on the Nazis were aloud to were able to define their own legal limits because the decree was so broadly written.
