Duma created
After the war, the Czar was forced to create the Duma. -
World War I
Lasted until November 11th, 1918. Russia is unprepared for war in every way. -
Duma becomes Provisional Government
After the Czar resigns, the Duma becomes the Provisional Government to stand in place of an actual government. -
Czar abdicates his throne
After poor job in the war, people begin to dislike the Czar and he must abdicate his throne. -
October Revolution
Lasted until the next day. Bolsheviks staged the revolution to overthrow the Provisional Government. -
Russian Civil War
Lasted until October 25th, 1922. The Red army vs the White army. The red(Bolsheviks) won against the white(Democrats). -
Stalin takes over as General Secretary of the Communist Party
Lasted until October 16th, 1952. He is in control of the Soviet Union. -
Lenin dies
Lenin was the leader of the Bolsheviks and helped in establishing the Soviet Union. -
First 5 year plan
Lasted until 1932. A plan for rapid industrialization in the Soviet Union. -
Second 5 year plan
Lasted until December 1937. Aimed at making the Soviet Union self-sufficient. -
Stalin’s “Great Purge”
Lasted until 1938. A period enacted my Stalin to eliminate any “threats” in the Soviet Union. -
World War II
Lasted until September 2nd, 1945. After the war, the Soviet Union was one of the two of the worlds remaining superpowers. -
Cold war
Lasted until 1991. A war where The United States and the Soviet Union presented nuclear weapons in order to intimidate each other. -
De-Stalinization (After his death)
A period of erasing the legacy and lies of Stalin after his death. -
Stalin dies
After his death, the Soviet Union went through De-Stalinization. -
Nixon/Khrushchev “Kitchen Debate”
During an American exhibit in the Soviet Union, Premier Khrushchev and President Nixon have a debate about how communism is better. -
Perestroika and Glasnost
Lasted until 1991. They were two policies enacted by Mikhail Gorbachev in order to motivate the people to participate in making the Soviet Union survive. -
Gorbachev takes over as General Secretary of the Communist Party
Lasted until August 24th, 1991. Attempted to save the Soviet Union by implementing policies to motivate the people. -
Dissolution of the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union broke into multiple countries, all under their own rule.
