    Inez Miholland
    Miholland rode a white horse at the front of the procession. She was a famous activist, speaker, and lawyer. She spoke out on the rights of women, as well as advocated for them during the suffrage movement, pushing socialist agendas. Miholland was the main activist for the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession.

    On March 3rd, 1913, thousands of women marched on the streets of Pennsylvania Avenue. The spot for the march was chosen as it was going to be where the inaugural parade for Woodrow Wilson would take place. On the banners they carried, they wrote, "We demand an amendment to the Constitution of the United States enfranchising the women of this country." They were harassed by the people who were against this march and yelled at for fighting for their rights.

    Susan was an activist who worked on taking direct action to challenge laws that denied women the right to vote. She also advocated for women's education. In her efforts, Anthony co-founded the National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA) in 1869.

The liberation movement sought to empower women, and challenge the traditional norms of society, and patriarchal structures that ultimately limited their opportunities and the right to have their own choices.

    Simone's ideas and writings played a pivotal role in shaping feminist theory and inspiring activists to work toward gender equality and women's rights. She, "emphasized individual freedom and the idea that one's existence precedes their essence." Simone made women question their social roles and made them rethink and analyze their rights.

    Title IX of the 14th Amendment
    President Richard M. Nixon signed it into law. Title IX states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance”. This law allowed women to have more rights when it came to getting jobs and being in sports.

    The HeForShe movement was a global campaign launched by UN Women. It sought to promote gender equality and women's rights. Unlike other women's rights movements, the HeForShe movement encouraged boys and men to participate and advocate. It asked for males to fight against stereotypes and gender discrimination.

    Iranian Women's Rights Movement
    An ongoing struggle that started after the revolution, where women began to challenge these restrictions. Organizations protested, wrote letters, and used campaigns and social media to spread awareness of the women's rights issues in Iran. Also consists of the "Girls of Revolution Street" movement, where women would remove their headscarves and publicly protest for their rights.
