Griswold v. Connecticut
Decided that citizens implied a right to privacy. Citizens also have the right to use contraceptives (drugs used to prevent pregnancy). -
Roe v. Wade
Case decided that a womens' right to an abortion is only under certain circumstances. -
Webster v. Reproductive health services
Decided that the States interest in protecting potential life could exist before "the point of viability". Also decided that portions of the Roe v. Wade case would not be revisited. -
Planned Parenthood v. Casey
Decided that some states can put some restrictions on abortion. Had a "unique opinion" being that it was authored by three judges. -
Stenberg v. Carhart
Decided that trying to stop women at partial-birth was not an option and that it would violate their privacy rights.
