Rick was paralyzed at the age of 15 in a pick up truck accident. -

Rick enrolls at UBC, and becomes the first person with a disability to graduate witha degree in physical education. -

Rick meets Terry Fox, and they instantly become friends -

Accmplishments
Rick wins 19 international wheelchair marathons, Rick receives 9 gold medals at the 1982 Pan American Wheelchair Games, and he gets to represent Canada at the 1984 Olympics. Rick is also named Canada’s Disabled Athlete of the Year in 1979, 1980, 1982. -

The Man in Motion World Tour society is created tohelp raise more money for spinal cord research, and treatment. -
