Richard receives a blow to the head from an opposing player during a match up with the Boston Bruins. He then decides to get even by delivering a two handed blow with his stick to the players head. -
The suspension
Clarence Campbell comes to the decision that Richard is to be suspended for the remainder of the regular season along with playoffs. -
The Riot
Campbell attends the Montreal game this outraged fans and ultimately caused a riot. This was the worst riot in Quebec history. -
The Plead for Peace
The violence became so bad that Richard was asked to go on air and ask the public for peace -
