  • The French and Indian War 1754-1763

    King George III used a grate deal of money buying expensive supplies for him army. To pay of his debt he put taxes on the colonies without their consent.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 stated that the land over the Appalachian Mountains was reserved land for Indians. Colonists that where already living their were to came back to the east. The colonists were angered by the Proclamation, but they still moved west anyways. The colonists wanted to move west to start farming and their own businesses. They wanted to earn money.
  • Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act was started in hopes to raise money for British troops that were stationed on America. The act forced to colonies to only buy English sugar and molasses. Takes were placed on the products from other countries. This act also give British officials the rights to search any ship coming into the colonies that are from other countries. The act was passed in the time when the colonies where in a economic depression. Protest against the Sugar Act developed. The main focus of the colonies
  • The Currency Act

    The Currency Act restricted the release of paper money by the colonies of New England. Colonists didn't think it was fair to abolish their currencies and impose the Pound as the only acceptable form of money. They protested against it.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was an act the placed tax on all paper items. The colonist were not fond of this idea. The reactions of the Stamp Act called for boycotts on British goods. colonist started the Sons of Liberty and Daughters of Liberty. On October of 1765 the delegates from nine colonies met in New York. They prepared statements that protested the Stamp Act. The result of this meeting was the Stamp Act Congress. Colonist refused to play the tax on paper good. Protest were started to get the attent
  • Quartering Act

    troops were send out to the colonies in America to collect taxe money. This act forced the colonists to give living quarters and food to British troops. The Parliament told the colonists that they had to allow the solders to live in there homes. The British thought that they were protecting the colonists from the french. That is why they made the colonists accept the act. The colonists didn't the French was a threat.

  • The Declaratory Act

    The devlaratory acr was an acr for the better securing the dependency of his Majesty's dominions in America upon the crown and parliament of Great Britain.
  • Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act put taxes on glass, tea paper, and printed that came from England. This act also placed import taxes on products coming to America that were from England. there was also export taxes put on material and products made in the colonies and send to England .he colonies were ever angry. They had demanded to be represented in the making of the decisions about their teases.
  • Boston Massacre

    It was the killing of 5 colonist made by British solder. The solders were getting things thrown at them. Some of this things were rocks, snow, gloves, and other things. They were later on sent into court. Later on it would be found that it was not the solders flat for shooting.
  • The Tea Act

    To assist the failing British East India Company, the Company was given a monopoly to trade tea in America. Colonist were only only to buy from the India Company. The colonist were angry, because they were only able to by from on to. They were not ale to buy the tea they wanted. Tea was getting smuggled, so colonist were able to buy it.
  • Boston Port Act

    The act was one of a series of British Laws. This laws were know as the Intolerable Acts. This act would close the ports until the tea that was destroyed from the Boston tea Party and East India Company was payed.
  • Lexington and Concord

    British troops were ordered to Lexington and Concord to seize stores of colonial gunpowder and to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock. At lexington 8 americans were killed. Also at Concord 70 troops were killed. The British were forced to retreat.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The treaty was signed by enjoin Franklin , John Adams, and John Jay. The United States of America was recognized as an independent nations. British troops were to be removed from the new nation. The United States agreed to pat all debts owed to Britain.
