India
Mohandas K. Gandhi lead Indian people in a "salt march" to protest against England. Untill March 4, 1931 the people protested. Gandhi was assasinated by a Hindu fanatic not long after. -
Egypt
The Egyptian revolution was begun by Muhammad Naguib and Gamal Abdel Nasser, two military leaders of the time. Their goal was to overthrow King Farouk. The leaders were thretened by Imperial powers such as the United Kingdom and France. -
Cuba
The Cuban Revolution (1953–1959) was an armed revolt conducted by Fidel Castro. He was fighting to get rid of Cuban President Fulgencio Batista. The Communist Party, created from this revolution now headed by Castro's brother Raúl, continues to govern Cuba today. -
Iran
The Iranian Revolution is a revolt against the Pahlavi dynasty under Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who was supported by the U.S. The odd thing was that the revolution seemed to come out of nowhere. -
The Philippines
The People Power Revolution was a series of demonstrations of civil resistance. The people, backed by the U.S. government, wanted to remove the Marcos regime and insert Corazon Aquino as the legitimate President of the Philippines. -
South Korea
138 students and workers are killed when police fire into a demonstration, and injuring 1000-2000 more. The revolutionist wanted to seperate from North Korea and institute their own government. -
Lebanon
A revolt against the Pro-Syrian government breaks out after the assasination of the former prime minister. The people push out the Pro-Syrian government and create their own Democracy.
