  • The Thirty Year War

    The Thirty Year War was a war that started in 1618 and lasted till 1648, and happened in most of Europe but was primarily in Germany. The war started because of a disagreement about religion. The Thirty Year War caused famine and disease in most of the countries that were involved in said war. This event was important to religious tolerations in most of Europe.

  • War of the Austrian Succession

    The War fo the Austrian Succession started in 1685 and ended in 1748. The war started because the Salic law said that Archduchess Maria Teresa couldn't take her father, Charles VI, crown. And because of this, the French and Prussia challenged Habsburg. The war ended when the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle was placed.     The English Bill of Rights was a system set to clarify who would next inherit the crown. The Bill of Rights was important because to English citizens it stated certain rights.

  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was made by the Parliament of Great Britan in 1765. This affected the papers, legal documents, etc. The Stamp Act was a rule put in place that made it so you had to pay. Because of this rule, the American Revolution happened. The Reson this rule was placed was so troops, who fought in the Seven Year War and the French and Indian war could get payed.

  • American Revolution

    The American Revolution started in 1775 and ended in 1783. The war was fought between Great Britain and the 13 British colonies. The war started after many years of problems. After the Stamp Act was placed, saying that colonists had to buy stamps for papers, newspapers, ect., the colonists didn't follow the rule because the money went to the king. This event was important because it is when the 13 colonies became independent.

  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was signed in 1783 by the King of Great Britain. Britain was recognized as its own nation because of the terms of the treaty. The treaty also ended the American Revolutionary War.

  • Storming of the Bastille

    During the French Revolution, the Bastille was destroyed. It got destroyed by people of Paris. The Bastille held criminals such as thieves, forgers, and some people got put in for religious reasons. On July 14, 1789, the people of Paris attacked the Bastille. They were after the guns, gunpowder, and other weapons held there.     From 1789 through 1799 the French Revolution took place. There were a lot of reasons the French revolution started. Some of the reasons include, The high price of bread caused common folk to suffer from hunger. Another reason was the roman catholic church that made France put taxes on crops. The French Revolution was important because it aranged the Declaration of the Rights of Man.

  • Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis Court Oath was an oath made by the French third estate and a couple of members in the First estate. The oath said that they would refuse to move until their demands were met. This happened because they were mad at the king. The Tennis Court Oath was the first step in forming the Third Esate of France.

  • Reign of Terror

    The Reign of Terror was an 11 month period during the French Revolution. The Great Terror started in 1793 and ended in 1794. On July 17, 1794, sixteen nuns were singing religious songs as they were being executed. And the Reign of Terror ended after important leaders of the Reign of Terror were also executed. The reason this was important because it helped establish the importan of democratic institutions.
