    Revolutions In The Americas

    Revolution in Haiti was when the French colony which was Saint Domingue was the first Latin American territory to free themselfs from the European rules. About 30,000 French troops landed in Saint Domingue on January 1802. Toussaint L'Ouverture was captured and then later died in the French Alps prison in April 1803.
    At the end General Dessalines declared the colony a independent country in January 1, 1804.
