Treaty of Paris
This treaty ended the French and Indian war and lead to a time of British dominance.This treaty lead to the taxation of the colonists and the resentment of the British. -
proclaimation of 1763
The proclmation closed off the frontier of colonial expantion. The purpose of the proclamation was to organize Great Britain's new North American empire and to stabilize relations with Native North Americans through regulation of trade, settlement, and land purchases on the western frontier. The colonists resented the british for trying to contain the space in which they could settle. This was the initial sign that the british empire cared for the united states again. -
The Quartering Act
The British further angered American colonists with the Quartering Act, which made the colonies provide barracks and supplies to British troops. -
Thte Stamp Act
Was the first direct tax and it was another tax to help pay the debt created be the French and Indian war. -
Sam Adams
He lead protests against the stamp act and in 1765 the tax was ended -
Townshend act
a series of acts passed to create revanue from the colonies. -

The fatal incident happened on March 5 of 1770. The massacre resulted in the death of five colonists. -
Boston Tea Party
In September, 1773, the British East India Company put 500,000 pounds of tea on the market. THe colonists then dumped the tea into the ocean as an act of defiance. -

On April 1st, 1774 the British parliament passed the intolerable acts due to their reaction to the Boston Tea Party. -
1st continental congress
The First Continental Congress was held on September 5, 1774, and lasted until October 26, 1774. It was held because the colonists were very upset about the Intolerable Acts and the taxes. -
