    Treaty of Paris 1763
    The Treaty of Paris of 1763 was was signed on February 10th by Great Britain, France and Spain. This treaty inforced the French to leave their posts in East India, the end of the Seven Years War and made the French lose their possessions in North America and all their land east of the Mississippi River

    The Proclamation line of 1763 was King George III forbidding any settlement past the appalachian mountains. The purpose of this was to stabilize relations with Native Americans and to stabilize new North American territory

    The Sugar Act was a 3 cent tax on sugar, wine, coffee and Indigo. Many colonists felt a restriction of justice due to this act leading them to smuggle in Molasses instead of paying the tax.

    The Stamp Act put taxes on anything that was a printed paper. These taxes angered the colonists because they had never been taxed on these things prior to this act.

    The Quartering Act allowed soldiers to be put in colonists homes. The colonists were responsible for gigving them beds and feeding them due to their not being enough space in the barracks. This act caused a lot of tension and anger between Britain and the colonists.

    The Townshend Acts were a series of acts passed by Charles Townshend. These acts imposed taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies. These acts were repealed quickly due to the anger with the colonists.

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston massacre occurred one day when the colonists were so fed up with the British soldiers that they were mocking the soldiers and throwing things such as snowballs at them. This lead to the soldiers firing their weapons and killing five Patriots.

    The Boston Tea Party was a famous event led by the Patriots against Britain's taxes on tea. The colonists wanted to protest the taxes so they did this by dumping all the tea that came to the boston harbor overboard.

    The Intolerable Acts were a series of punitivve laws that the British passed after the Boston Tea Party. Their purpose was to punish the colonists. The Intolerable acts lead to the first continental congress.

    The first continental congress was a meeting of delegates from all the colonies except Georgia. The purpose of the continental congress was to discuss their relationship with Britain and figure out how to assert their rights to Britain.

    These battles were the first battles of the American Revolution. The British marched all the way to Concord to seize weapons and famous Paul Revere warned the colonists that the British were coming and near Lexington to start off the fighting

    The 2nd Continental Congress was about pulling away from Britain and writing the Declaration of Independence and began to make provisions to form the american continental army in order to protect the colonies

    The battle of Bunker hill was fought in Massachusetts and was where the British had beaten the colonists. Even though it is called the battle of bunker hill it was mostly fought on breed's hill.

    The olive branch petition was written on july 5th but recieved to King George on July 8th. The Olive Branch Petition was a last resort mechanism to try to stay under British rule while also having their rights back. The colonists were not trying to make this document a rebellion but that is how the King took it and declared war on the colonists.

    The battles of Princeton/Trenton was a win for America and this win boosted the morale of the colonists and unified American control.

    Battle of Saratoga
    The battles of Saratoga was known to be a turning point in the American Revolution. On September 19th the British had a small win against the colonists and even though his soldiers were weak he attacked again in October. The second attack on America was a loss for the British. This American victory caused the French to be an ally to the the patriots.

    The Battle of Camden was fought in South Carolina and was a loss for the Americans. During this battle the american soldiers were faced with dysentery and the loss caused them to lose 2,000 men. They also lost heavy amounts of artillery.

    The Battle of Kings Mountain was a victory for the Americans and this victory was known as a turninhg point in the war. The colonists destroyed the British's left wing of soldiers. This battle also ended the British invasion in North Carolina.

    The Battle of Yorktown took place in Yorktown Virginia. This ended in American victory and virtually concluded the revolutionary war. The British had no chance at making a come back after this battle, leading Americans into victory.
