    French and India war
    A war that lasted for 7 years. It was the British against the French. Both sides fought to dominate North America, the Caribbean, and India. Led to the British having a lot of dept.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation stated that all lands west or northwest of the river that flowed to the Atlantic ocean were off limits to colonists.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was to tax English merchants. This is because Great Britain and the West Indies was not doing good because of the United States. The United States sold things such as Rum and Molasses at a cheaper price.
  • The Currency Act

    The Currency Act
    British Parliament made the Currency Act to control the colonial currency system. The Act also prohibited new bills.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    Taxed a lot of the colonies transactions. The colonists felt enraged by the British taxing them and they started to riot.
  • The Townsend Act

    The Townsend Act
    Taxation on glass, oil, lead, paper, and tea. The reason for doing this was to gain 40,000 a year for the administration of the colonies. But because of this there was a lot of hostiles.
  • Boston Non-Importation Agreement

    An agreement not to get products to Great Britain and not to receive products from Great Britain.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    There was a disagreement between a wig maker and a British solider. Then it led to around 300 colonist surrounding 7 British troops. The Americans started taunting them and throwing things at them. Then the British troops started firing into the crowd.
  • The Gaspee Affair

    The Gaspee a ship from Great Britain was robed and the people on it were captured. The people who robed it did not hide their identities. The Parliament was outraged about it.
  • Boston Port Act

    Temporarily discontinued trading/shipping goods in Boston Port. The act also stated that Great Britain had control over Boston Port.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The British taxed tea so the Americans went on British boats to dump tea in the harbor in protest. They dumped more than 92,000 pounds of British tea into the harbor.
  • The Coercive Acts

    The Coercive Acts
    After the Boston Tea Party. The British made the Coercive Acts, that closed Boston Harbor. Boston Harbor is a major spot for trading. They wanted to close it until the tea was payed back.
  • The First Continental Congress was formed

    The first continental congress congress met in Carpenter's hall in Philadelphia. The colonists that were elected wanted to be independent from Great Britain. It was made to seek a resolution with England.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    British General Thomas Gage led a force of British soldiers from Boston to Concord. He wanted to capture Sam Adams and Jon Hancock. He also wanted to steal their gunpowder. But thanks to American spies they were able to prepare for the British.
  • Bunker Hill

    Troops marched to Breeders hill but was supposed to go to Bunker Hill instead they misunderstood Artemis Ward. The British had a lot of casualties during Bunker Hill. So they then thought of it as a war/organized rebellion.
