Cost of defending the colonies. Settlement was prohibitted west of the Appalachian mountians with out guarantees. -
Sugar act
Sugar and mollasses act was about to expire in 1733. The mollasses act the merchants were requried to pay a tax. But since the corupption they had pretty much cut the off. They figured stuff from the English would be cheaper than from the West Fench Indies. -
Currency Act
The colonies offten had a shortage of currency. There was no gold or silver mine, currency could only be obtained with Great Britain. Colonies really felt on alternative to printing there own money (bills) or credits. When they made their own money the bill or credits could only go towards certain things not anything they want. That is when the currency act came into play. -
Stamp act
Stamp act is where they are taxing every peice of paper that is used. They would even tax playing cards. They used to money from these taxes because the british lost a lot of money in the french and indian war. -
The Quartering Act of 1765
The acts passed in the parliment stage. It was passed so the millitary people would be payed more and have better beniffits for serving in the armed forces. It was to have a more effectual act in the majest's dominions. this act would also punish the mutiny and desertion. -
The Declaratory Act
This was an act for better securing on the dependency on majest's dominions. They were having troubles getting this through because a lot of people did not agree on what they had to say on this act. They were going so hard after this they would throw in little votes they would make a differnce so some acts would pass by a few votes and make a big difference. -
The Townshend Revenue Act
They set this act so they could bring in some money for their town ship. They would tax the good that people really needed because most of the time that was most of the stuff coming into there colonies. They wuld tax lead, paint, oil,paper, and stuff like that because some of that stuff was a big part of some peoples lives. -
Boston Non-Importation Agreement
Boston and Great Britain kind of had a fight from getting things imported from britain. Britain was kind of getting the better side of things and Boston was not. Boston then said they will not buy anything more from Britain the only things that will come in is the stuff that is already ordered. As of Jan 1st nothing elese wil be imported in to our town ship from Britain. -
Bosten Massacre
The Bosten Massacre was a street fight between Britsh soldiers and a "Patriot" mob. The mod was throwing snowballs, sticks pretty much anything they could find. Several colonists were killed in this street fight and they led to a campaign by speech-writers. Once the soldiers had enought of getting stuff thrown at them they just fired right into the mod and killing 3 right on the spot. a town meets was held and they talked about removing the british.
