It was written in Paris and signed by King George III to say that they surrender to the united states ending the war. -
Siege of Yorktown
It was also know as the Battle of Yorktown it lasted from September 28, 1781 to October 19 1781. The victory was by a combined force of American Continental Army and French Army troops.
