  • Loyalists and Patriots

    The tensions between the Loyalists and Patriots grew, sparking lots of hate and push back from patriots. The Loyalists would later flee to Canada to avoid conflict with others. Promised protection from the Treaty of Paris in which they do not receive. Patriots were seen as traders because pf their actions to break away from the Crown.
  • Second Continental Congress

    Delegates from all colonies met together in Philadelphia to discuss and highlight the need for a united army to represent the colonies in war. As a result of this meeting, the newly founded colonial army would be led by General officer George Washington. The progress often Declaration of Independence was furthered and heard input feedback from each colony. Finalizing the meeting, the Olive branch petition was written and sent to King George to
  • Lexington and Concord

    Paul Revere along with other individuals such as William Dawes and Sam Prescott rode around on horses warning the colonists of the British's coming. The secretive warning was directed towards significant member of society such as John Hancock and Sam Adams. British had a ratio of 700 troops to 100 colonial troops showing clear disadvantage. British were forced to retreat as a result of weak strategy and different style of war.
  • Native's Role in War

    The Natives fought alongside Britain ultimately to reach liberty in addition to protecting their land and culture which had been previously taken over. Methods such as compromising and adapting to dodge violence by Natives. Their participation in war prevented colonial expansion westward from Proclamation of 1763. The Natives saw fighting with British was their best option and had better chance of success in War, which meant they would achieve their goals of reaching freedom once again.
