French and Indian War

Sugar Act
British parliament wanted more money for security throughout the colonies. This was more expensive than other products because of the wars with foreign forces. The excess of trade with Britain made the colonists realize that they would not have a greater amount of income from products if they were only trading with one nation. Stamp Act
British parliament wanted to secure areas along the Appalachian Mountains and taxed the colonists on every parchment or paper product. The colonists were deeply offended by the Stamp Act because it set a different standard than the one that was in effect before i.e. taxes were utilized to regulate commerce, not raise money for England. The Battle of Bunker Hill
American militiamen wanted to prevent the British conducting attacks in the countryside. After the battle, the militia and patriots scramble for more colonists and soldiers to assist them as the redcoats continue to threaten Boston. Second Continental Congress
