Proclamation of 1763
The proclamation of 1763 was a law that prohibited settlement west of the mountains. -
The end of the French and Indian War.
From 1754-1763 the French and Indian War was fought between the French and the British. The British won leaving behind a large sum of debt. -
Currancy Act
The Parliament passed the Currency Act, assuming control of the colonial currency system. The act prohibited the issue of any new bills and the reissue of existing currency. -
Sugar Act
Raised revenue by icreasing tax on sugar imported from the
West Indias. -
Committees of Correspondence
Organized by Samuel Adams. Propaganda and information was sent in the form of letters. -
The Quartering Act of 1765
Th act that made the colonist open there homes for British soldiers. The colonist also had to feed the soldiers. -
Stamp Act
Required Tax stamps on all printed documents. -
Stamp Act Congress
27 delegates from nine colonies met in New York and wrote a statement of rights. -
Townshend Act
Certain taxes help make the colonial offices idepenedent of the colonist. -
Boston Massacre
The Colonist and Bristish soldiers openly dashed in Boston -
Boston Tea Party
A group of colonist dressed as Native Americans got on British ships and dumped tea shipments off of the ships.
