    Addition of Freed African soldiers

    During a certain time, freed African slaves were able to join the Patriots to fight in the war. Washington did not like this but by the the end, he ended up letting 15% of African slaves fight in the war.
  • concord and lexington

    The British went to concord to try to find weapons that the colonists were hiding, but the colonist were ready. Someone shoot first but they don't know who. After the British won, they went to Lexington to fight there.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was a battle up a hill where about 2000 redcoats attacked up the hill. The militiamen did not have tons of gunpowder, but they still ended up pushes the redcoats down twice until they ran out of gunpowder.

    The British woke up one day and saw that there was tons of cannons surrounded their city. The colonist were externally armed so the British abandoned the city.

    This was a battle where both armies met in New York City to fight. The Americans knew it was going to be a hard fight because the British were well trained. They had to surrender and gave the win to the British.
  • Trenton

    One night, the Americans had made their camp on one side on the Delaware river and the Hessians had made theirs on Trenton New Jersey. That night, the Americans caught the Hessians by surprise and they had to surrender.

    This fight was right after the fight at Trenton. There was about 300 troops that were captured. This win was really good for the Patriots after Trenton.

    Valley forge

    After the win at Saratoga, the continental army went through a rough winter. A lot of them got sick or even ended up dying because they didn't get the essential items they needed to live.
  • Saratoga

    When the Burgoyne got to Saratoga they were surrounded with militia. So the Burgoyne had to surrender, this was the win that the Patriots needed.
  • Monmouth

    The Battle of Monmouth was when the British left Philadelphia and the Patriots chased them all the way to Monmouth. Washington was able to convince his troops to push out the British.
  • Clinton takes the Carolinas and Georgia

    To first take over Georgia Clinton starts a campaign called ''Southern campaign.'' After he successfully did that he started pushing through the Carolina's.
