    The Concord and Lexington battle was when British soldiers were sent to Lexington because the colonist were rebelling against the British and the people of Lexington were ready to fight

    colonist occupied 2 hills over looking Boston and 2000 red coats attacked the hill they were told not to fire until they had limited gunpowder and the British kept falling down the hill
  • Boston siege

    the British woke up surrounded by colonist with cannons pointing at the city the British the British knew they were surrounded and fled the city
  • battle of new york

    the British and the continental army fought for a few days and after 2 days the British lost 377 men with the Americans lost 1,407 the British offered them surrender but Washington refused and this retreat was the first of a long series of retreats
  • battle of trenton

    in Trenton NJ the Continental army crossed the Delaware river and surprised the British as it was Christmas the British was drunk and not ready and had no choice but to surrender

    burgyone had a slow move through new York giving Washington time to plan by the time the general arrived in Saratoga springs it was swarmed with milita and the British had no choice but to surrender

    Free Africans were aloud to join the war but at first Washington saw it as a problem and didn't want them joining because the people supporting his army didn't like Africans but eventually let them join but then Africans protested that if they faught for their freedom they deserved their own
  • battle of monmouth

    The continental army had got new training and Washington wanted to tested it the continental army chased the British out of philly and to Monmouth NJ they pushed the British in to NYC where the war started
  • valley forge

    the continental army set up camp in valley forge during the winter but the winter was brutal and the Patriots didn't have enough supplies to help them through the winter in valley forge many soldiers died of disease and starvation after this the army took towards new training
  • foreign soldiers arrive

    troops from France started to arrive 5,000 were already added to the army but 3,000 were added washington used the ships to his advantage to block off the harbor so the British couldn't escape
