Townshend Acts
British monarch puts taxes on all lead products to recieve more money. Colonists keep getting frustrated because of all the taxes they have to pay. -
Arrival of British soldiers in Colonies
British soldiers arrive into Boston to inforce the new Acts and duties for Colonists to fulfill. -
Boston Massacre
A group of colonists attacked British soldiers at the Customs House. British soldiers fired at the colonists killing all 5 of them. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a group of Massachusetts patriots that was protesting the monoply on the American tea importation that was recently granted by parliment from the east indian company and was seized 342 chests of tea during the midnight raid on the three tea ships and had thrown them into the harbor -
Massachusettes Shut Down
Corecive Acts shut down the Boston harbor and all of it's ports. Crown wants to overthrow Massachusettes government, and allow British troops to basically take over a colonists house(Quartering Act). This occured in March and June of 1774. -
Frist Continental Congress
Frist Continental Congress had meet in philadelphia at the carpenters hall. To disscuss that all colonies excepted georgia had sent delegates and they were elected by the people also by the colonies legislatures. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
2 country towns west of Boston. General Gage provoked the battles by sending British troops to arrest John Hancockand Samuel Adams (colonial leaders) and sieze Patriot weapons stockpiled in Concord. Patriots were full time farmers and part time soldiers known as Militia. The battles were faught on colonists property in front of homes which were conquered by British troops.
