French and Indian War
Struggle between the French and Indian started in 1754.
The turning point in this war was when William Pitt took over wartime operations.
This war was also called the Seven Years War. -
Proclamation of 1763
This proclamation became part of the long list of events where one side did not understand or disagreed with the other in 1763.
It also declared the boundaries of settlements for inhabitants. -
Stamp Act
This Act happened in March, 1765, and was the first direct tax on the American Colonies.
The colonists went into action by boycotting the British goods. -
Boston Massacre
In March about 60 angry townspeople hurled rocks and snowballs at the guards and reinforcements.
Without permission soldiers shot and killed 5 men. -
Boston Tea Party
The Bostonians, on a cold December night, townspeople tossed 342 chests of tea over board the ship's.
The damage that was done cost, in American dollars, about three quarters of a million dollars. -
Tea Act
The Gaspee was burned when colonists got angry about taxes and burned it down.
In hopes of having colonists pay the tax for tea, they lowered the tax. But, this did not help anything colonists still refused to buy. -
Intolerable Acts
It all started when 342 chests got dumped off a ship by townspeople.
The townspeople payed for what they did. The government did this in hopes of stopping the rebellion. -
Declaration of Independence
On June, 7 a resolution was introduced to the congress that declared the thirteen colonies free.
July, 4 the colonies approved the declaration.
