Committee of Correspondence
The committee of correspondence was an organized secret government made by the patriot leaders. This secret government helped lead to the thirteen colonies break away from the british in revolution. -
The Royal Proclamation act
This proclamation helped clear up want land belonged to what country after the french and indian war and the seven years war. -
Intolerable Acts
Punitive laws passed by British Parliament. This was meant to punish the people for throwing tea in the harbor. -
The Sugar Act
Parliament passed on molasses and sugar. It required 6% tax on every gallon of molasses. -
The Stamp Act
The tax was imposed on all american colonists and made them pay a tax on every printed piece of paper they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed. -
Stamp Act Congress
The first meeting held between the colonies. This act required all papers for businesses to be stamped. -

This is a law which stated that the people would need to house the British people and give them anything they need during the time of war. -

Townshend Acts were passed by the british parliament about the North America colonies. The word townshend comes from Charles Townshend. -
Boston Massacre
The boston massacre was a street fight between colonists and british soldiers. This event occurred on march 5 1770. Many citizens were killed by the soldiers after throwing snow to rocks at the soldiers. -
Tea Act
The Tea act was the final straw in several unwanted and taxes imposed by the british on the American Colonies in 1773. The colonists felt this was an unfair tax and it eventually led to the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
The boston tea party was a political protest by the “sons of liberty” in boston on December 16th 1776. Colonists raided a ship and dumped and destroyed thousands of dollars worth of tea. After this event the british shut down the harbor until all tea that was lost was paid for. -
1st Continental Congress
Twelve of the thirteen colonies met here. They discussed how to resolve things with the British. -
Lexington & Concord
The battle of lexington and concord started on the morning of april 19th 1775. British forces were sent out of boston to go to lexington and capture colonial leaders sam adams and john hancock. Then gather gunpowder from concord. Thanks to american spies we learned of these events before they took place. -
Bunker Hill
This is where the british defeated the Americans early in the revolutionary war. This oddly gave the Americans a confidence boost. -
Appeal to Reason Rejected
Adopted by the second continental congress on july 5th 1775. A petition as a final attempt to avoid full on war between the thirteen colonies and great britain. -

A pamphlet written by Thomas Paine, Also inspired the colonist to declare independence. -
