    Proclamation of 1763
    The proclamation prohibited the colonist from living west of the Appalachian Mountains, on Native American land. The hope was to keep peace between the Natives and the Colonist to prevent another war being fought because England was broke.

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was created in hopes that the colonist would stop smuggling by lowering the taxes on molasses and sugars. It also gave law officials to sieze any smuggled goods. This act angered the colonist because they believed it violated there rights becuase as British citizens they could be tried in a jury to prove guilt or innocents.

    This Act taxed the colonist on all printed goods such as, paper, legal document, playing cards, any thing printed.

    The Stamp Act Congress was the first meeting held among the colonies to discuss Britains actions. Almost all of the colonies sent representitives, they were all elected.

    After months of protest and boycotts, Parliament finally repealed the stamp act. But at the same time they passed the Declatory Act, which states they had free legeslative power over the colonies.

    The colonists taught Britain that internal taxes won't go over to well in the colonies. So they tried taxing things when they were being bought from England, the result was the Townshed Act. This Act taxed paper, glass, tea, lead, and paint. Which was boycotted immediatly.

    Word got to Britain that the colonist were on the brink of rebellion. So Parliament deployed more troops in the colonies. These soldiers were young, naive, and simpy would rather be anywhere else. There was a scrirmish on the streets and eventually shots were fired. The patriots saw this as an oppertunity and made it a propaganda, they made it sound like hundred were killed when it was only a handful.

    As boycotts got stronger and more intense, Parliament finaly repealed the Townshed Acts, all except for the tax on tea.

  • Boston Tea Party

    After Parliament passed the Tea Act. Boston boycotted and took it very far. The Boston Sons of Liberty went on board of the ship that was bringing in tea. They dressed up as Indians, and threw the tea off the ship.

    Leaders from 12 of the colonies sent representitives, Georgia did not, They talked about how they should unite and seperate from Britain. They came to the conclusion that the acts violated the laws of human nature.

    This act extended Canadaś territory to south to the Ohio river. The act ignored the colonies claim to that land.
