    The 2nd Continental Congress was when the 1st. Continetal Congress passed. This one managed Colonial War Effort, and moved people more towards Independce.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill actaully happened on Breed's Hill. The British won the fight only due to the colonists running out of gun powder. Colonial commander Israel Putnam said this to his soldiers "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes." He said this because the rifles didn't aim very well and they needed to make a good shot to save gun powder.

    The main person who wrote the Declaration of Independence was Thomas Jefferson. Some of the others were Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Robert R. Livington, and Rodger Sherman. The Declaration was passed on July 4th, 1776. They first celebrated it a year later. They would celebrate the 4th of July by fireworks and ringing the Liberty Bell, but a crack happened so they no longer did it.

  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge lasted from December 19, 1777 until June 18, 1778. General George Washington and his troops camped at Valley Forge just outside of Philidelphia. His troops were crouded and starving. His troops were also unable to fight because of lack of support. Then came a man named Baron von Stuben. He geave the troops new clothing, shelter, food, and water. He transformed the men into fighters who win the battle, they just didn't know it.

    The Battle of Saratoga took place in Stillwater New York. This battle was actaully 2 battles. The first battle took place at Freeman's Farm. Our commander was General Horatio Gates. The second battle was fought on Bemis Heights. The commander was General Gates. This took place on October 7, 1777.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The Battle of Yorktown was the second to last main event to end the Revolutionary War. Yorktown was a very easy place to drop supplies off in boats for the Brithish. However since the British were on the bay they were easy to surround. We partnered with the French and they used their boats to block off the water, and our soldiers surrounded them. Since the British couldn't get through they had no defence.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris was what ended the Revolutionary War. The Treaty lasted 1 year. The Patriots wanted the British King and Parliament to accept American independence, and also to remove all British soldiers from American property. They also asked the British to pay Americans whose property they had destroyed in the war. The Loyalists who stayed in America wanted to be trated fairly. The Treaty of Paris was sighned on September 3, 1783.
