    Mexico one day was trying to disarm Texas and the Texans were having none of that, so they shot the cannon at the small army and raised a flag "Come and Take it!" This is the war that started the Texas Revolution.

  • Battle of the Alamo

    Battle of the Alamo
    Sam Houston knew that they were going to come back with a bigger army. He told everyone to abandon the Alamo, but James Bowie said that they needed to protect it, so he stayed there with William B. Travis. They sent out letters to try to get more people to protect it. After a few days, The Mexicans came back with 1800 soldiers and Texas only had about 200. They killed all Texans (Even Bowie and Travis.) This gave Santa Anna a title of being merciless.

    Sam Houston had told James Fannin to leave Goliad because he knew that the Mexicans were going there. Fannin tried to leave, but he took his sweet time and got into a battle. Fannin decided to take a rest in an open field. He was forced to surrender.

    After they surrendered the current general: General Urrea was just going to take them in as prisoners, but Santa Anna ordered to kill them all. So he did. (This included Jame Fannin)

    Mexico has been chasing the Texans for a couple weeks, so his soldiers are tired. He decided to take rest in a small area.
    But the Texans were way ahead of them and They snuck up on the Mexicans. They killed almost all of Mexicans. Santa Anna surrendered. They captured Santa Anna. Sam Houston told him to go back to Mexico. Thus ending the war against Mexico and winning their Independence.
