The Declaration of Independence stated that you should have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This came from what John Locke said, that everyone is born with the right to life, liberty, and property. -
Constitutional Convention
The Constitutional Convention helped create the government, and they basically made a contract between the government and people, like what Rousseau said. -
Creation of the US Government
The US government is separated into the legislative branch, executive branch, and judicial branch. This is like Montesquieu who said that government should have separation of powers. -
