The battles of Trenton and Princeton were the first major victory of the patriots in the war. after being forced to retreat through new jersey Washington and his men crossed the Delaware and launched a surprise attack on Christmas. the British tried to defend themselves but most were drunk and were quickly over run. it is an asymmetrical event because It was an unpredictable surprise and the British couldn't fight back very well. -
continental army wintering at valley forge
After a defeat in germantown Washington led his continental army to valley forge for the winter. conditions were very bad and disease rates were high. the weather was freezing and all they had was fire for warmth. It is an asymmetrical event because unlike the patriots the British did not spend their winter like that.

The battle of Charleston was the British attempt at taking the south because they failed at taking the north and middle. it was a very long war taking around 3 weeks and was very radical and barbaric. it ended in a british victory so they got what they wanted. it is symmetrical because both sides were fighting against each other somewhat equally.

Battle of yorktown
The battle of Yorktown was one of the most important battles in the war. The patriots were in alliance with France and the British were trapped and greatly out numbered. in the end after weeks of fighting the patriots won. the British surrendered and the u.s. was free. it is symmetrical because both sides were fighting the same ways.
