    The Hat Act was a tax that controlled the production of hats in colonial america. the colonists reacted with anger and resentment. the British didn't react to the colonist.

    The Sugar Act put taxes on all sugar and molasses that was shipped into the Colonies. The Colonist's reaction was to send letters to the British parliament. The Parliament's reaction was to repeal the act.

    The Stamp Act put taxes on paper products by making those products have a stamp that they had to pay for in order for them to be official. the Colonies reacted in anger with boycotting and violent riots. The British reacted by repealing the stamp act.
  • Quartering Act

    The Quartering act demanded that the residents of the colonies provide food and shelter for the troops in the colonies. The colonists disputed the legality of the act and refused to house the soldiers. The British reacted by suspending the New York Assembly. The act expired in 1767
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts were taxes on glass, paint, tea, lead, and paper. they decided to boycott British goods especially luxury goods. the British's reaction was to have troops occupy Boston which led to the Boston massacre in the end they repealed the acts that were put in place.
