  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The sugar Act was an act that taxed sugar and molasses. Molasses was taxed 6 pence per gallon while sugar was only taxed 3 pence per hour. The Sugar act was repealed in 1766.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was an act that stated anything paper had to have a royal stamp on it in which the stamps were taxed. If you were caught without a stamp you would be sentenced to death.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was an act that taxed glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. The colonist didn't like this act so they wouldn't drink tea unless it was smuggled.

    The Tea Act
    The Tea Act was passed due to the fact that The East Indian tea company produced to make tea so instead in selling it to england who would then sell or trade to america The East Indian company started selling directly to America. But the tea was so expensive that the colonist decided they were gonna boycott the company by dumping over 300 chests of tea into the Boston harbour.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    The Quartering act was the last act to be passed. This act stated that colonial authorities had to provide transportation, food, water, fuel, and quarters to british soldier living in their towns. The colonist didn't like this because they didn't have a say in it.
