Proclamation of 1763
This proclamation was made by Britain; it prohibited any exploration beyond the Appalachian mountains in North America. The colonists were upset by this action because they had fought for the rights of this land. Image source:

Sugar Act
Britain placed tariffs on sugar, wine, coffee, and other items imported by the colonies. The colonists smuggled in good instead and avoided the tariffs. -
Stamp Act
Britain imposed that all official documents must be stamped. The colonists then began boycotting all British goods. -
Townshend Act
Britain taxed a wide variety of imports, including glass, lead, paints, paper, silk, and tea. The colonists boycott these items and even threw tea into the Boston Harbor. Image Source:
