    Proclomation of 1763
    Was issued by British Government calling for a halt to westward expansion beyond the Appalachians.
    The Colonists reaction was they petitioned the Parliament.
    The Governements reaction was the boundary line being moved.

  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    British raised the price of sugar coming from France. The colonist's reaction was that they boycotted English products, and this earned the attention of Great Britain by hurting them financially. The Sugar Act was repealed in 1766 due to the anger of the people against it.

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Parliament prices had been raised official documents needed a special stamp. The colonist's reaction to the act was by vocalizing their dissent in assemblies, newspapers and the Stamp Act Congress. They repealed it and made the Declaratory Act.

  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    Was passed after the repeal of the Stamp Act; declared British authority to make and pass laws for the colonies. There was no immediate reaction to the Declaratory Act, over which the colonists seemed not to have a consensus. There was no reaction from the British governemnt because there was really no reaction from the colonists.

  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    The British taxed a wide variety of imports, like glass, lead, paints, paper, silk, and tea. The colonist reacted by boycotting goods, refusing to provide living quarters and not to buy or import British goods. It wasn’t until the Boston Massacre occurred that the British took action regarding these taxes.
