Molasses Act. 1733
A 6p Tax per a gallon of molasses that was imported from non-British colonies, Colonists avoided and smuggled Molasses from French and Spanish colonies. The British Parliament noticed the lack of revenue from this act and replaced it with the Sugar Act that would be more enforced on the colonies. -

Sugar Act. 1764
The Sugar Act. was a revenue-raising tax passed by Parliament, it also saw an increase in smuggling enforcement in the colonies which greatly disrupted its economy. It increased the concern of the colonists about their rights as a British citizen. After heavy protest from the colonies the Sugar Act. was repelled in 1766 and replaced with the Revenue Act of 1766. -

Stamp Act. 1765
Was a direct tax by parliament on the colonies. The Stamp Act. required printed materials to be stamped on paper produced in London. The colonists responded with heavy protest and opposition to the act, fear of British businesses being boycotted the act was repealed in 1766. -

Quartering Act. 1765
Colonies in America had to provide food and lodging for the British soldiers housed in America. The colonists saw this as a violation of rights because parliament was forcing them to provide for a standing army during a time of peace, as a result did not often comply with the acts. The Parliament punished governments in the colonies often for not complying with the act. -
Townshend Acts
A series of laws passed by Parliament to raise revenue from the colonies in America. The colonists responded with many protests, boycotts, non consumption agreements, and founding of the Daughters of Liberty. after the Boston Massacre a partial repel was passed in 1770
