    In the 1950's the main style of cooking was with kettles, stoves, pots, and toasters. and the main types of foods that were made were kebabs, meatloaf, pies, beef and vegetable stews. During this time there was mass post war immigration, and many Australian citizens started travelling around the world which led to experiencing many new cuisines and different variations of food. Women were the only people that would cook in the kitchen.

    mums couldn't always find the time during the day to go shopping for food and fit in all the housework and chores so these frozen and packaged meals were a must, even though they were not always that healthy. some of the cooking styles that were becoming more and more popular in these times were air fryers and deep fryers same with ovens and blenders. daughter would start to help with their mums in the kitchen prepare dinner and other meals.

    some of the most common dishes that were cooked in the 1980's were stews and pastas, lots of sweets and sugary breakfast. televisions in the kitchen were also very common aswell as radios and microwaves. people were getting very lazy in these times so packaged food was very high demand. women began working full time and electronic games were also getting popular among teens, specifically Pacman. big hair and shoulder pads were coming into fashion.

    In the 2000's men and women would cook in the kitchen together rather than just the women, many new variations of food were introduced like Asian street food, shallow fried foods, zucchini fritters, pork belly sliders, these types of foods became very popular within the 2000's. Eating out at restaurants also became very popular because new cuisines of food were getting introduced. aside from all the food other things became popular like DVDs, change in power from liberal to labour.
