    At 8:41 am, United Airlines Flight 93 takes off from Newark International Airport en route to San Francisco. Flight 93 is the fourth plane that was hijacked that day.

    At 8:46 am, American Airlines Flight 11 crash into floors 93-99 of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The crash causes floors 93-99 to catch fire.

    At 8:50, President George W. Bush is informed of the events by the White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card during his visit to an elementary school in Sarasota, Florida. Bush is shocked by the news.

    At 9:42 am, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grounds all flights in or over the United States. Approximately 4,500 planes are guided to airports in Canada and the United States over the next two-and-a-half hours.

    At 9:45 am, the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses. Which is approximately 56 minutes after the United Airline Flight 175 crashed into it.

    At 10:07 am, United Airlines Flight 93 crash into a field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Mysteriously, the plane disappeared after it crashed into the field.

    At 10:28 am, the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapses. Approximately 102 minutes after American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower.

    At 8:30 pm, President Bush addresses the nation, calling the attacks “evil, despicable acts of terror” and declaring that America, its friends and allies would “stand together to win the war against terrorism.”

    7:59 am – American Airlines Flight 11, a Boeing 767 with 92 people aboard, takes off from Boston’s Logan International Airport en route to Los Angeles.
    8:14 am – United Airlines Flight 175, a Boeing 767 with 65 people aboard, takes off from Boston; it is also headed to Los Angeles.
    8:20 am – American Airlines Flight 77 takes off from Dulles International Airport outside of Washington, D.C. The Boeing 757 is headed to Los Angeles with 64 people aboard.

    Three days after 9/11, President Bush went to New York City. He stood alongside one of the fire fighters, gave a speech with a bullhorn, and in this speech, includes his famous words: "I can hear you!" he declared. "The rest of the world hears you! And the people – and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon."

    In a press conference, President Bush announces on live television, "A War on Terror". This declaration eventually leads to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
