The day when Australia became a civilized land. Without Discevering that there were Indegenious Australians, Australia was known as Terra nullius, meaning no mans land. From the First fleet only one preist was there to preach the catholic religion. Suprinsingly not only there were british convicts but irish convicts aswell and both countries back then didn't cooperate well together. The reason was that they had different beleifs, the british were protestan and the irish were catholic.

Aboriginals lived in Australia for over 50,000 years and have their land invaded. Even the First fleet knew that Aboriginals are living in Australia but, they were not considerd as civilized people. Their culture was described as tribal and uncivilised by the English.

He arrived to Australia in 1800, later on became Australia's first ever official preist. Later on he and two other preists were arrested for being apart of the 1798 Irish rebellians who were transported to Botany bay.

Since the british and irish aren't good friends with eahother the irish were trasnported to botany bay. The majority of those irish convicts were criminals or social rebels. A total of 2086 irish were transported.

World War I declared. Catholics become influential in the Australian Labor Party with the rise of figures such as Ben Chiffley and James Scullin. St Patrick's College seminary at Manly celebrates its Silver Jubilee. An Act of Parliament permits the subdivision of 21 acres of land above Shelly Beach and Fairy Bower to help meet the cost of the college's upkeep.
