At 6 months my parents would
read bedtime stories to me. In
addition, my Dad would make up stories for my siblings and
myself. This allowed me to
imagine new ideas and stories.
Also was starting to say
simple sounds. -
1-4 Years Old
Bilingual at this age. Able to speak English and Chinese. -
2 Years Old
Named familiar objects. Had a favorite book that I loved to hear over and over. -
Kindergarten
Learned about phonics and how to say words and sentences. -
1st Grade
Learned how to start putting sentences together. -
2nd Grade
Started reading chapter books and writing book reports. -
5th Grade
Started to research about topics and wrote reports about them or made powerpoints. -
6th Grade
Started to write research papers. -
7th Grade
Had class discussions on topics that we were learning, not just in English class. -
11th Grade
Learned about poetry. In addition, when we read books our teacher put us into groups and we had to have our own discussions.
