German U-boats sank a British ship. This affected the U.S. because there was 128 American citizens that were killed. -
Sussex Pledge
The Sussex Pledge was a promise given to the U.S.A from the German government responding to their reactions to the First World War. It promised or pledged that Germany would not sink any non-military ships. This didn't last because Germany broke the pledge bysinking all "enemy" ships. -
The Zimmerman Telegram
TheZimmerman Telegram was a telegram sent from the German Empire to Mexico. It siad that if Mexico joined the war on/the side of Germany, they would give Mexico all the land that was taken from them by the United States. -
Economic Issues
The U.S. loaned a lot of money to the allies. If Germany won, the allies wouldn't be able to pay the U.S. back& the economy could fall. -
Women Sufferage
Women's Sufferage is the right for women to vote & to stand electoral office. Though women gained their rights, it took some places a while befor they acknowledged them as equals. -
League of Nation
The League of Nation came into being after WWI. It was created to keep the peace between all other nations.
