In 2002, my grandparents bought me The Ultimate Dick and Jane Storybook. We would read that book at least 3 times a day. I made my brother, then 1 listen to me "read" from that book. -
Junie B. Jones
In 2003, we read Junie B. Jones series in my 1st grade class. I LOVED reading about her adventures. -
Black Beauty
In 2005, I was in 2nd grade. I checked out the book Black Beauty at my school library and was obsessed with this book. Something about the story captivated me from the beginning and I checked this book out for over 4 months in a row. -
Twilight
In 2009 I read Twilight for the first time. I completely fell in love with the series and that is what kicked off my love for reading. It captivated me in a way that helped me escape reality for a while. -
Along for the Ride
In 2009 I read the book Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen. I loved her writing style and she quickly became my favorite author. I always waited anxiously for her next book. -
If I Stay
In 2011 I read the book If I Stay by Gayle Foreman. I loved this book and went to see the movie as soon as it was released. -
Bumped
When I was 13, I thought this was a cool book. It had a interesting plot, and it was an easy read. Looking back now, I don't think this is good book to represent women. It is more of a warning per say. -
1984
In my freshman year English class, we read George Orwell's 1984. While I understood the premise of the book, I never particularly cared for the writing style. -
Hunger Games
We had to read Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins in 8th grade. I was not a fan of the book. I have never really liked violent stories. -
Vampire Academy
In 2013 I was still in my vampire phase of life. I loved being able to read stories that were so different from each other yet still similar. I read The Vampire Academy books and loved the way the stories flow. -
To Kill A Mockingbird
In my sophomore year of high school we read this book. The story really resonated with me and I loved the book so much i named my dog Scout. -
Romeo and Juliet
In high school we read Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. I di not like the way this book read and couldn't understand most of the dialog. -
Go Ask Alice
When I read this book, it really opened my eyes as to how quick people can spiral with mental health issues. It really became a book that I have remembered for years. -
Crank
I was 16 when I first read Crank By Ellen Hopkins. It really reads like poetry, but has a deep meaning of falling into drugs. -
Dreamland
When I read Dreamland by Sarah Dessen, that was the first time domestic violence was ever shown to me on a level that was age appropriate. Of course I had heard about it with adults, but had never really thought it could happen at my age. It was an eye opener. -
The Rest of the Story
In 2019 I read Sarah Dessen's final "Young Adult" book she plans on publishing. It was a nice read but not the stories I remember. -
Midnight Sun
I recently read the last Twilight book and was not as impressed with it as I would've been 10 years ago.
