    I remember being so proud of myself; and I loved to read this one book that has a pink cover and it was all about baking cookies with mom. I cannot remember what it was for the life of me, but I remember bringing it into class during my “Star student” week.

I found myself after wat. ching the movie comparing and contrasting what I liked and what I did not like about the movie and identifying what is different from the movie to the book

    For a school assignment I had to do research on a civil rights activist. I chose Dr. Martin Luther King because him and I share a birthday. Through this project it began to birth on me a desire to see equality all across America. It birthed in me a desire and a heart for those who are not privileged and to fight for what I believe is right.

    The Harry Potter series was an influential part of my childhood. It taught me to love reading and to use my imagination. It was a good reminder that reading can take you to another place when life seems to be so hard. It showed me that good always prevails in the end.

    My junior year of high school, I began to really find a love and appreciation for poetry. I found myself reading more and more poetry on my own, loving the way that words seamlessly went together. Flowing one word to the next. I began to find a beauty in the way that words mean someth8ng to different people.
