Cat in The Hat
When I was 3-4 years old I remember Dr. Seuss books being some of the very first books my parents read to me. -
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of the very first books I learned how to read on my own in Kindergarten and I had it memorized after reading it for so long I loved it! -
Magic Treehouse Series
All throughout second through about third grade I was obsessed with this book series, I think it sparked my interest for reading. I would read one of these books every night I loved them so much! -
The Series of Unfortunate Events
This was another book series I was in love with. I believe there were 13-14 books in the series and they were difficult to read at sometimes when I was in fourth and fifth grade. -
Harry Potter (of course)
All of my friends in middle school loved this series and I quickly became a fan of the books and movies. These books were challenging for me at first and were very lengthly but I really enjoyed them. -
Twilight Series
This was another series I was in love with in high school! I would stay up so late reading them and get the books right when they came out. All throughout school I have really enjoyed reading, as long as it was books I wasn't required to read. -
Great Gatsby and Uncle Sam's Cabin
When it came to reading the required texts in high school I was 100% un interested in all the texts assigned. Those included The Great Gatsby, Uncle Sam's Cabin, and To Kill A Mockingbird. I found them all boring and didn't enjoy reading them at all. -
Freshman Year of College
When I first entered college as a freshman I HATED all the assigned reading from our textbooks. To be honest I only did about 50% of the assigned textbook reading I disliked it so much. -
ENG 450!!
In the fall semester at Nevada State I took an English class called ENG 450 and it was 20th Century Literature. Each week we were assigned a book to read which at first sounded like a lot of work I didn't want to do. But this was one of my favorite classes! My professor introduced me to such incredible books that made my love reading again! -
Currently
After taking that class in the Fall semester I have fallen back in love to reading on my free time. I try to go to the library twice a month and try to read at least 1-2 books a month as well. My favorite author right now is Toni Morrison.
