Being introduced to God
One of the first books my mom bought me was A Beginner's Bible and she would read it to me daily and explain the stories. -
Home Schooled
I was home schooled from 2nd to 7th. My mom used Bob Jones University (a Christian Campus) books. -
Traveling to Minnesota
I have always had a attraction towards Halloween and spooky things. Once when I was about nine, we took a road trip to Minnesota and all I read was ghost stories along the way there. I remember not being able to fall asleep at night or at rest stops. -
Third Grade
My mom was fond of The Little House on the Prairie books so that is what she had me read for fun. I was not fond of reading when I was little but I was able to relate to the character of the little girl in the stories. Sometimes, I wished I was her and owned all the farm animals that she had. -
Private School
I was sent to a Christian private school for 8th and 9th grade. This is where I was introduced to the Left Behind series that talks about the rapture. -
Ms. Nebe
I went to Clark High School 10th-12th grade. I was still not fond of reading at the time but my 11th grade English teacher, Ms. Nebe had me hooked on this mystery novel. I do not remember the title of the book but I do remember just wanting to know what happened next. I could not put this book down and I will never forget it. -
Senor Year
During the summer before senior year, I started reading Stephen King's books. My brother was really into this author at the time so I would just borrow his books when he was done with them. -
After highschool
I have always dealt with anxiety since I was little and it got worse as I got older. So when I graduated, I started reading Joyce Meyer's books. They helped my coped and understand the power of thoughts and attitude. -
Met my Fiance
I met my boyfriend who is now my Fiance. He did not have the same beliefs as I did and had many questions when we talked about religion. I bought the book, I don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist, to help through the discussions we had together. -
