Reading History

  • Dr. Seuss

    Dr. Seuss
My earliest reading experiences are with Dr. Seuss books. My mom and I would read one every night before bed. My all time favorite was Green Eggs and Ham.
  • Junie B Jones

    Junie B Jones
In elementary school, I loved reading the Junie B Jones books. I always found them so funny. I would try and chose these books to do my monthly reading tests on.
  • Book Fairs

    Book Fairs
I remember getting money from my parents so that I could go to the annual book fair at the schol library, and buy the absolute BEST book I could find. I would browse each section, until I found exactly what I wanted. It was always one of my favorite school activities.
  • The Secret Garden

    The Secret Garden
I read the secret garden when I was in 5th grade. This was the first "big" chapter book I ever read. I remember feeling so accomplished once I was finished.
  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I loved reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory. It was definitely one of my favorite books to read. I remember reading it multiple times and watching the movie every time it came on tv.
  • Twilight Series

    Twilight Series
At the end of Junior High (8th grade) I started reading the twilight series. I remember my older sister was reading them at the same time, so I thought it was cool we were doing it together. I think they were a little challenging for me, but I pushed myself to finish all of them.
  • High School literature

    High School literature
Once I was in 9th grade I started to dislike reading. I wasn't fond of the book choices we were forced to read. I absolutely hated reading Romeo and Juliet.
  • The Hunger Games

    The Hunger Games
I definitely was apart of the Hunger Games frenzy. I read all of the books, and watched all of the movies. I will say that this was on of my favorite reading experiences. All of my friends and I were reading them at the same time, which made it more exciting. We would always come to school and talk about the books.
  • A Fault in Our Stars

    A Fault in Our Stars
I read this book my senior year of high school. I fell in love with readig all over again. I literally cried more than I ever have in any other book. I forgot what it was like to feel attatched to characters in a story until I read this book.
  • Out of My Mind

    Out of My Mind
This is the most recent book I have read. I think this book is the definition of the phrase "don't judge a book by its' cover." It honestly wasn't at all what I expected it to be. I have to say it truly opened my eyes to a lot of ideas that I've never considered before.
