My kindergarten teacher read to us The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, and i was so drawn into the illustrations. It is a book that I still love reading. -

My elementary school's library had a big collection of I SPY books. I was hooked on those books. -

In second grade my teacher really pushed us all to read just for fun. We had lots of book fairs at our school, and I remember asking my parents to buy me a new book every week. Reading was not forced it was something I did for fun. -
Read my first big chapter book
I remember reading my first ever big chapter book in fifth grade. The book was titled "The Man Who Was Poe" by Avi. It was over 20 chapters long and had about 200 pages. Reading it felt like a movie. -

Committed to Reading books
I made it my New Years resolution to read as many books for fun as possible, and so far I am doing great.
